<p>"This dataset is the magnetic susceptibility data of desert materials on the surface of the Taklimakan Desert. A total of 250 samples were measured. The instrument used is a Bartington magnetic susceptibility meter. The experimental analysis was completed in the Central Laboratory of Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, China Academy of Sciences. This data reflects the spatial characteristics of the magnetic susceptibility parameters of surface materials in the Taklimakan Desert, and is of great significance for the study of the palaeoenvironment of the Taklimakan Desert. The grain size composition and TOC and TN content data of different types of topsoil sediments in the central Taklimakan Desert in this dataset were analyzed and completed by the Northwest Institute of Ecology, Environmental Resources, China Academy of Sciences. The particle size analysis instrument is a Mastersizer 2000 laser particle size analysis instrument with a test range of 0.02-2000 μm;TOC and TN use potassium dichromate spectrophotometry and Kjeldahl nitrogen determination method. This data reflects the material composition and soil nutrient characteristics of different types of topsoil sediments in the central Taklimakan Desert, and is of great significance for the study of the modern process of topsoil sedimentation and the evolution of oases and deserts in the past. Material derived from the surface desert of the Taklimakan Desert, the instrument used was a Bartington magnetic susceptibility meter, and the experimental analysis was completed in the Central Laboratory of the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, China Academy of Sciences; The topsoil sediments are derived from the central Taklimakan Desert and are collected from different types of sediments, including alluvial fans, river sediments, floodplains, reed wetlands, grassland, Populus euphratica forest, shrub sand dunes, mobile sand dunes and artificial grass grids. The particle size analysis instrument is Mastersizer 2000 laser particle size analysis instrument, with a test range of 0.02-2000 μm;TOC and TN are determined by potassium dichromate spectrophotometry and Kjeldahl nitrogen determination method.
