This volume contains research papers devoted to major problems of hydrology in Central Asia. Several articles examine issues related to the water balance of irrigated areas, particularly evaporation from different underlying surfaces and its relationship to groundwater depth. The collection also investigates changes in the discharge and mineralization of the Syr Darya River, as well as the impact of human activities on the hydrography and hydrological geography of the Amu Darya Delta. A second group of papers focuses on studies of mountain snow cover, precipitation, soil moisture, and evaporation. This volume is intended for scientific researchers, designers of land-reclamation projects, and students specializing in hydrology.
