<p>This dataset is the spatial distribution data of the main vegetation functional types (temperate deciduous broad-leaved forest, temperate evergreen coniferous forest, deep-rooted shrub, non-deep-rooted shrub, grassland, alpine meadow, etc.) in the five Central Asian countries and Xinjiang of China from 1995 to 2007. Spatial resolution 1000 meters, spatial reference WGS_1984_Albers projection benchmark. </p>

The vegetation functional type map of Central Asia is compiled based on the vegetation map of the region: 1. Editorial Committee of Vegetation Map of China. Atlas of Vegetation of China (1:100000) Geological Press, Beijing (2007). 2. Rachkovskaya E.I., Kazakhstan Semi-Deserts and Melkosopochnik Vegetation Map of Kasakhstan and Middle Asia. Original accuracy: China vegetation atlas (1:1:1 million), Kazakhstan semi-desert and Merkosopnik vegetation map scale 1:2 500 000. The accuracy after processing is 1000 meters.
