<p>This dataset is lidar data on aerosol changes in the Aral Sea Lake Basin from 2007 to 2020. Contains aerosol height change data, aerosol thickness change data, and aerosol seasonal change data in four seasons: aerosol winter, summer, spring, and autumn. Data is stored in.xlsx format. </p>

CALIPSO data is downloaded from the NASA Langley Research Center at https://subset.larc.nasa.gov/calipso/.
The classification method for atmospheric aerosols is shown in the figure. Related types can be extracted directly by CALIOP Vertical Feature Mask (VFM). The specific algorithm used is shown in the flow chart. For tropospheric aerosols, taking into account γ ', δpest, top-bottom height and surface type, there are seven subtypes of aerosols: sand-dust type (δpest 0.20), marine sand type (0.075 δpest 0.20, reference altitude ≤2.50 km), polluted mainland/smoke type (δpest≤ 0.075, γ′ 0.0005, reference altitude 2.50 km), clean continental type (δpest ≤ 0.075, γ′ 0.0005), polluted sand and dust type (0.075 δpest ≤ 0.2, reference altitude 2.50 km) , lifting smoke type (δpest ≤ 0.075, γ′ 0.0005, reference altitude 2.50 km) and ocean type (δpest ≤ 0.075, γ′ 0.0005, reference altitude 2.50 km). For stratospheric aerosols, four subtypes are introduced: polar stratospheric aerosol type, volcanic ash type, sulfate/other type and smoke type, taking into account γ ', δpest, top-bottom height, location, month and surface type.

The raw data has a temporal resolution of 16 days and a spatial resolution of 5 km. Data time after processing year and month.
