<p>This book is a systematic monograph on irrigated agriculture in arid areas. It comprehensively discusses the theory, methods and practical issues of irrigated land management. The book begins with the history of irrigation and an overview of global irrigation areas, and then systematically analyzes the formation and classification of soil in arid areas (especially saline soil and alkaline earth), the physical basis of the soil-water-plant interaction, and the adaptability of crops to saline environments. The book focuses on the selection and water quality evaluation of irrigation water sources, measurement methods of irrigation water volume, various irrigation techniques and their application practices to different crops, and discusses in detail the impact of irrigation on soil properties.
