<p>This data reflects the land use situation of the five Central Asian countries and Xinjiang in 1970. Using the Land Use Classification System of China Academy of Sciences, it is divided into 18 categories including cultivated land, forest land, grassland, water, urban and rural, industrial and mining, residential land, and unused land. The data is stored in GRID format, and the spatial projection uses the WGS_84_Albers rectangular coordinate system, unit meter, and pixel resolution of 265 meters. </p>

Landsat MSS images from the 1970s.
First, sensor noise and atmospheric interference are eliminated by radiometric correction, and images are registered by geometric correction; then, based on multispectral bands,(For example, the ratio of near-infrared to red light) extracts spectral features such as vegetation index, combines supervised classification (maximum likelihood method) or unsupervised clustering algorithm (such as K-means) to classify objects with coarse granularity, generates cultivated land, forest, water and other first-class land use types; finally, filters to eliminate isolated noise pixels, and verifies classification accuracy based on visual interpretation and local field data, and outputs land use result data.
