This dataset comes from MOD13A1. The MODIS normalized vegetation index (NDVI) is a supplement to NOAA's Ultra-High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) NDVI product and provides continuity to enrich time series applications in this historical archive. MODIS also includes a new Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) product that minimizes canopy background changes and maintains sensitivity in dense vegetation conditions. EVI also removes residual air pollution caused by smog and thin sub-pixel clouds.
MODIS NDVI and EVI products are calculated based on atmospherically corrected two-way surface reflectivity, which has been screened for water, clouds, heavy aerosols and cloud shadows.
The resolution of the original data has not been changed, and the original data attribute information has not been increased or decreased.
