<p>This book systematically studies the development of desert and mountain ecosystems in Kazakhstan from the western Caspian Sea coast to the eastern Balkhash Lake region. The contents include: desert agricultural development (taking the lower reaches of the Syr Darya River as an example), industrial area layout planning, desertification assessment in the Aral Sea region, research on the hydrochemical characteristics of Balkhash Lake, analysis of the avalanche formation mechanism of the Tianshan Mountains, and suggestions for optimizing the network of nature reserves in East Kazakhstan. Pay special attention to natural resource management and ecological protection in extreme environments, providing important reference for arid area geography, environmental ecology and regional development planning. </p>
