<p>This book, led by the Institute of Geography of the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union, systematically studies the land formation mechanism and agricultural development potential of the Ob and Ertysh River flood plains (bounded by Tyumen Prefecture). Based on field inspections from 1972 to 1975, the author proposed a dual evaluation method combining typology and regional geography, focusing on analyzing the differences in land quality in floodplains and their relationship with river evolution, and providing background data for possible ecological impacts of Siberian water diversion projects (such as the North-South Water Diversion Plan).
