Xinjiang [Aksu National Field Scientific Observation and Research Station for Oasis Farmland Ecosystems] Station was formerly known as the Aksu Water Balance Test Station of the China Academy of Sciences. It was built in 1982. In 2002, it became the five largest irrigation test stations in Xinjiang and the Special Environment and Disaster Network Research Station of the China Academy of Sciences. In 2005, it entered the National Ecosystem Field Observation and Research Network, and officially joined the Ecological Network of the China Academy of Sciences in 2007. Affiliated to the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, China Academy of Sciences.
