However, for various reasons, many geologists working in the region remain unfamiliar with these results. The articles included in this collection are intended, at least in part, to fill this gap.The article by A. E. Dovzhikov (А. Е. Довжиков) presents the geological structure and tectonic subdivision of the insufficiently studied Kokshaal Range region and provides new evidence indicating that the terrigenous strata of the Kokshaal Mountains belong to the Upper Paleozoic. The articles by E. I. Zubtsov (Е. И. Зубцов) and G. L. Belgovsky (Г. Л. Бельговский) are devoted to the geology of Jurassic deposits in the Fergana Mountains. E. I. Zubtsov discusses the stratigraphy of the Rhaetian-Jurassic sequence and the history of formation of the Jurassic depression of the Fergana Mountains. These materials were obtained during detailed geological surveys of the region and reflect the views of a large number of geologists. G. L. Belgovsky substantiates an Early Jurassic age for the thick sandstone-shale sequence in the southeastern Fergana Mountains, the so-called Suyak Jurassic facies.Yu. A. Likhachyov (Ю. А. Лихачев) describes Upper Paleozoic volcanic formations in Eastern Kuramin (East Karamazar) and presents a detailed stratigraphic scheme developed during extensive geological survey work carried out in recent years. In his article, V. R. Martyshev (В. Р. Мартышев) reports the principal results of studies on the Middle Paleozoic strata of the Zeravshan-Gissar mountain region. These investigations made it possible to propose an entirely new and well-founded stratigraphic subdivision and to clarify the geological structure of this important industrial area. The article by N. S. Mudrogina (Н. С. Мудрогина) examines the successive stages of mineralization during the formation of economically important ant
