%X This book is the first volume of the five-volume "Fish of Kazakhstan", which systematically summarizes the fish fauna data in the freshwater waters of the Republic. The book describes the research history of fish in the waters of Kazakhstan and the formation characteristics of modern fish fauna, gives the geographical division of fish in the Republic, and provides original information and literature review on the classification status, morphology, biology, distribution, quantity and economic value of roundmouth (lampreys) and fish of sturgeon, herringformes, salmoniformes and pike.
