Such reviews have been published in Kazakhstan: Ixoid ticks (Galuzo, 1946, 1947, 1948, 1950, 1954), sand flies (Shakirdjanova, 1950), and mammals (Afanayev, Bazanov, Kolelov, Slutsky, Strautman, 1953).This work K. P. Paraskiva's book deals specifically with reptiles in Kazakhstan. Like the previously completed review of Kazakhstan fauna by the Institute of Zoology of the Kazakh Academy of Sciences, this book is mainly based on reptile collection and observations carried out in Kazakhstan by staff of the institute (mainly the author of this book). At the same time, this book also makes full use of documentary materials and the results of reviewing specimens collected by the Institute of Zoology of the Soviet Academy of Sciences, Moscow State University, Kazakh State University and Central Asian State University. There is no doubt that this review, which summarizes the knowledge of reptiles in our Republic, will inspire further, more in-depth and detailed research on reptiles in Kazakhstan
