AB  - This list applies to all mountainous and piedmont soils in Kazakhstan. The content covers mountainous and piedmont soil in Almaty Prefecture, East Kazakhstan Prefecture, Jamber Prefecture, South Kazakhstan Prefecture and other regions. Mountain soil classification has been refined to subgroups, while piedmont soil has been refined to subgroups and genera. In addition, the text notes (NB) list possible more detailed classifications of the listed soils; the final section provides definitions of soil genera and illustrates reasonable methods for classifying smaller taxa, such as species and varieties. The list is connected with the classification system of similar soils within the Republic and will provide necessary reference for soil scientists when compiling soil maps of different scales. It can also be used to count land resources and land use in specific areas.
