N. Pavlovsky and is based primarily on materials collected by the Tajikistan Parasitological Expeditions that he directed. Although the collection of faunal specimens was not the principal objective of these expeditions, their significance for the history of entomological research in Tajikistan has been enormous. The present-day territory of Tajikistan, whose boundaries are defined by ethnic, economic, and cultural characteristics, naturally does not coincide with any single zoogeographical or even landscape region. This territory encompasses M. A. Menzbier’s ornithogeographical divisions: the Pamir Region and the Bukhara Region (excluding its western half), as well as part of the Western Tien Shan (the Leninabad, Nau, Ura-Tyube, and Shahristan districts). Consequently, the subject of our description is the Hemipteran fauna of the following regions:The high-mountain region of the Pamir-Alai, characterized by steppe and woody vegetation (represented by juniper thickets and deciduous shrubs) and predominantly rocky soils. Its northern boundary extends into neighboring Kyrgyzstan, while its western boundary reaches Uzbekistan (the western extremity of the Hissar Range). The mountain and foothill steppes of the Pamir-Alai, characterized by steppe shrub communities, patches of deciduous forest, chestnut soils, and sierozems (often gravelly and stony). This zone is represented in all neighboring Central Asian republics, including Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, southern Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan. The foothill and semi-desert belt along the base of the Pamir-Alai, consisting of desert-steppe landscapes and irrigated lands on sierozem soils under a hot climate. This zone lies almost entirely within Uzbekistan and southern Turkmenistan and enters Tajikistan only in the Leninabad region. The subtropical zone, consisting of irrigated lands on desert-steppe and sierozem soils, with a hot climate and comp
