These crucial membrane proteins have only been studied in depth in recent years, but rich experimental data have been accumulated in a short period of time. Research on them is crucial for understanding the functional role of biofilms and even the entire cell biology.For the first time, this book systematically expounds the basic knowledge of cell receptors: their structural composition, characteristics of functionally important structural domains, molecular genetics, biosynthesis and catabolism of cell receptors. The book focuses on the functional role of cellular receptors in regulating biochemical processes, including the transport of metabolites into cells, cell proliferation, gene expression, and the regulation of protein biosynthesis in a "feedback" manner. As part of the above issues, they have been included in the biochemistry and biophysics teaching plan of the departments of medical biology at universities and medical schools, or as a separate course-membrane biochemistry.The problem of cellular receptors is extremely broad; it touches on almost all key aspects of cellular and molecular biology. The depth of research on a series of issues is not sufficient, and some of the points that have been clarified may not be included in the classic conclusions. The rapid accumulation of experimental data makes it difficult to draw final conclusions and opens up space for building hypotheses. The author believes that the most promising hypotheses are already reflected in the book. Critical analysis of them will enable readers to actively build their own insights into the important area of membrane process biochemistry.
