AB  - This monograph systematically studies the natural geographical characteristics of the forest and grassland belts and grassland belts in the Russian plains, and comprehensively analyzes the geological structure, climatic conditions, hydrological characteristics, soil types, vegetation distribution and animal communities of the region. The study first elaborated on the origin of chernozem, the relationship between forest and grassland, and then discussed the development laws of erosion landform and the Quaternary geological history. The climate chapter divides the seasonal characteristics and regional differences in physical geographical areas in detail, while the hydrology section focuses on analyzing the ecological functions of the river system. Vegetation research distinguishes the composition of plant communities between forest and grassland zones and typical grassland zones, paying special attention to the impact of human activities on animal communities and the value of economic animal resources. Finally, the monograph typologically divides 8 physical geographical subregions of the forest and grassland belt and 4 subregions of the grassland belt, and proposes 6 typical landform types, providing systematic background data for Eurasian grassland ecology research.
