AB  - I respectfully dedicate the third volume of this book to my beloved Turkmen people and to my homeland, a land that is one of the most valuable treasuries of medicinal plants contributing to human health, vitality, and well-being. Through the grace of the Almighty, the land of Turkmenistan possesses unparalleled medicinal plant resources. Despite its unique climatic conditions, the plant kingdom of Turkmenistan remains exceptionally rich and diverse. Vegetation is particularly abundant in the mountainous regions, especially in the Kopet Dag Mountains. More than 1,600 native plant species grow there, of which over 330 are endemic, meaning that they do not occur anywhere else in the world outside the territory of our country.The era of great revival and transformation has opened broad opportunities for the in-depth study of plant-derived medicines used in folk medicine. Therefore, after examining the customs and traditions associated with medicinal plants among our people, as well as the various methods used by local inhabitants to prepare plant-based remedies in traditional medicine, methods that our ancestors developed into a precious component of the Turkmen nation's heritage, and drawing upon the most advanced international experience, I described Turkmen medicinal plants and their therapeutic properties in the first and second volumes of Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan on the basis of scientific medical knowledge accumulated from antiquity to the present day. In the third volume, particular emphasis is placed on the heritage of traditional medicine associated with the medicinal plant world of Turkmenistan, including rare endemic species, relict plants, and endangered species possessing therapeutic properties, as well as methods for their cultivation, which is one of today's most urgent tasks.
