%X The collection describes the research results completed by Moscow University from 1974 to 1975 under the comprehensive interdisciplinary topic "Natural Resources of Western Siberia and Their National Economic Utilization." This paper discusses the prerequisites for exploration of non-structural oil and gas reservoirs in West Siberia, the analysis of topography from the perspective of engineering geology, the engineering geological characteristics of sediments, regional soil coverage, the distribution of permafrost and the dynamic development of Pleistocene strata.The collection is of reference value to various professionals involved in research and development in Western Siberia-geologists, engineering geologists, permaologists, soil scientists and geographers.
