The desert zone covers nearly half of the territory of the Republic and approximately 60% of the desert zone of the Soviet Union. The book shows the main characteristics of desert soil formation and gives a systematic classification and diagnosis of the soil in this zone. Special attention is paid to brown calcium soil, which is a widely distributed zonal type in desert soil. It can be divided into northern desert brown calcium soil sub-zonal subtypes and central desert gray brown calcium soil sub-subtypes. Their comprehensive chemical and physico-chemical characteristics are provided in the book.The soil geographical zoning of the area was comprehensively carried out based on natural indicators.This book is aimed at experts in the fields of agriculture and water conservancy, staff of planning and design institutions, teachers and students from colleges and universities and secondary agricultural technical schools.
