AB  - The book describes the results of deep seismic sounding of the upper part of the crust and upper mantle in the territory and marginal seas of the Soviet Union. The characteristics of the deep seismic sounding observation method are described-explosion and vibration receiving conditions, recording equipment parameters, and observation system. The wavefield seismic parameters unique to major crustal types, and wavefield criteria for identifying and comparing deep seismic boundaries and strata were examined. The statistical analysis results and geological interpretation of the average velocity, interval velocity and boundary velocity of seismic wave propagation in the crust of large geological structural units are listed. The interpretation results of deep seismic sounding profiles are described, aiming to study the undulation of the main interface between the crust and the upper upper mantle, the internal structure of the crust and its connection with the upper structure, and the nature of the consolidated seismic layered structure of the crust and the upper mantle. This book is aimed at a wide range of geologists and geophysicists interested in deep tectonic and tectonic issues.
