AB  - Siberia is part of the publication series Modern Russia: A Geographical Description of Our Homeland, compiled by the Russian Geographical Society. The series consists of four volumes: Siberia, The Far East, and European Russia (published in two volumes).In this book, the Siberian macro-region is defined as comprising the Siberian Federal District and Tyumen Oblast (including its autonomous okrugs). The region also includes the Republic of Buryatia and Zabaykalsky Krai, both of which were incorporated into the Far Eastern Federal District in 2019.The book provides a general description of the region's geographical location, the history of its exploration and development, its natural conditions, resources, population, and economy. It also examines issues of ecology and environmental protection. The final chapter presents a detailed description of all fifteen constituent entities of the Russian Federation located within this macro-region.
