%X This book is a comprehensive work on the physical geography of northeastern China, published by the Institute of Geography of the Soviet Academy of Sciences. The book systematically discusses the geographical location, administrative divisions, population and economic profile, place name system, Russian geographical research history and main documents, and provides a comprehensive analysis from the perspectives of topography, climate, rivers and lakes, and biogeography. The core of the book is the natural geographical zoning section, which divides the research area into the Daxinganling Mountains, Barga Plateau, Gobi Area, Reho Plateau, mountainous areas along the Amur River, Eastern Manchuria Mountains, Liaodong Peninsula, Manchuria Plain, Lower Songhua River Plain and North Xingkai Plain. Ten natural geographical areas, including the plain, describe the geomorphological characteristics and natural environment of each area. At the end of the book are conclusions, references, glossary of geographical terms and index of place names. This book can be used as a reference for geography researchers, regional planners and readers interested in the physical geography of Northeast Asia.
