It is the longest highway in the world through a mobile desert. The Tarim Desert Highway Protection Oasis consists of a green belt that protects the Tarim Desert Highway. The oasis vegetation is mainly composed of wind-proof and sand-fixing shrubs such as Tamarix, Calligonum, and Haloxylon ammodendron. The geographical location of the oasis is 37°22′59″N-40°49′17″N, 82°50′19″E-84°20′22″E. The Tarim Desert Highway protective oasis has an area of 52.26 km2 (Albers) and a length of approximately 420 km.
