1958年12月8日至12日，预定在阿拉木图市召开成矿图和预测图联合科学会议，本次会议由苏联科学院、哈萨克苏维埃社会主义共和国科学院、苏联地质和矿产保护部以及哈萨克苏维埃社会主义共和国地质和矿产保护部召集。\n即将召开的联合科学会议的任务是研究和总结近年来在苏联许多地质勘探和科研地质机构的工作实践中广泛开展的各种比例尺成矿图和预测图编制工作的经验。召开本次会议也是为了制定最合理的预测图和成矿图编制方法。\n参加联合科学会议工作的将有国内顶尖科学家，以及苏联地质和矿产保护部、哈萨克苏维埃社会主义共和国地质和矿产保护部、苏联科学院和各加盟共和国科学院、高等院校、各经济区国民经济委员会和其他部门所属各地质机构的代表。\n筹备委员会决定在会议召开前出版所有报告，以便尽可能广泛地使各地地质学家了解报告内容，从而促进即将召开的会议顺利进行。\n根据联合科学会议的议程，计划总共听取27个报告。在本会议论文集中，仅发表24个报告。有三个报告未收入本论文集，未送达出版社。在所收录的材料中，有四份材料并非完整的报告，而仅为提纲，因为直至排版开始时，作者尚未提交报告全文。叶·特·沙塔洛夫和阿·弗·奥尔洛娃的报告是按第一版印刷的。\n所有报告和提纲基本上未经编辑修改即付印，部分报告因需要而作了少量非原则性的删减。
