This monograph systematically compiles taxonomic data of 127 lichen species in 26 genera in Kazakhstan, covering 17 families and 8 orders. The book describes in detail the morphological characteristics, ecological habits and specific distribution points of each species in Kazakhstan, and also notes the geographical distribution pattern of these species in the Soviet Union and the world. The study particularly pointed out that these lichens have important ecological functions in various habitats and participate in biogeochemical cycling processes. The book is equipped with 67 fine anatomical maps, 4 classification comparison tables and 124 reference documents. It not only provides basic data for lichenology research, but the biogeographic laws it reveals are of great value for understanding the ecosystem of arid regions in Central Asia and is suitable for scientific research and teaching workers in Kazakhstan and neighboring countries in Central Asia.
