This monograph systematically studies the parasitic fungi of the order Ustiaginales that harm various cultivated and wild plants in Kazakhstan, and comprehensively evaluates the economic losses caused by such pathogens to agricultural production. The study is divided into two parts: the general part describes Kazakhstan's natural historical conditions, the research history of Usmut fungi and comprehensive control measures; the individual part provides a Usmut family/genus level search system based on host plant groups, describing in detail the morphological characteristics of each species and its distribution pattern in Kazakhstan, and is accompanied by original photomicrographs and macro symptom maps of diseases caused by pathogens. The book not only provides plant pathologists and agronomists with professional pathogen identification tools, but the prevention and control strategies it proposes have practical value for ensuring food security in Central Asia. It can also be used as a teaching reference material for biology and agronomy majors in universities.
