This anthology contains the papers of the joint scientific conference on metallogenic maps and predictive maps held in Almaty from December 8 to 12, 1958. The meeting was jointly organized by the Department of geological geography of the Soviet Academy of Sciences, the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic and the Ministry of Geology and mineral protection of the Soviet Union and the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic. A total of 808 people attended. They represented more than 120 scientific research and production geological institutions and institutions of higher learning from major regions of the country, including the State Planning Commission of the Soviet Union and the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic, the Central Committee of the Kazakh Communist Party, the Presidium and the Department of geological geography of the Soviet Academy of Sciences, the Presidium and the Department of mineral resources of the Kazakh Soviet Academy of Sciences, the leaders and departments of the Ministry of Geology and mineral protection of the Soviet Union and the Kazakh Soviet Union, and the research on geology, petrology and mineralogy of mineral deposits.Institute of geology, Soviet Academy of Sciences Leaders of the Institute of Geochemistry and analytical chemistry, the productivity research committee, the Siberian Branch of the Soviet Academy of Sciences and all its branches, the academies of Sciences of the participating republics, the all Soviet Institute of geology, the Institute of mineral materials of the Caucasus, Central Asia and Siberia, the Arctic Geological Institute of the Ministry of Geology and mineral protection of the Soviet Union and the all Soviet Institute of petroleum geological exploration, the Kazakh Institute of mineral materials, the Ural, the Southern Ural, Irkutsk, Binhai, northeast, Chita, Yakut, northwest, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajik, Buryat, Krasnoyarsk and other geological bureaus, as well as all regional geological bureaus of the Ministry of Geology and mineral protection of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist republic, departments, investigation teams and geological exploration teams, Moscow, Leningrad, Tomsk, Central Asia Saratov and the Kazakh National University, the General Bureau of geology under the Council of Ministers of the participating republics, some national economic commissions and many other domestic scientific research and production organizations. Among the participants were the most famous scientists and practical workers of the Geological Department of the Soviet Union, including 36 academicians and communication academicians of the Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union and the participating republics, 45 doctors and 168 associate doctors, leading cadres of the Ministry of Geology and mineral protection of the Soviet Union and the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic, chief geologists and directors of most regional geological bureaus across the country, heads of all geological research institutes, representatives of geological teaching and research offices of many universities, etc. The conference participants' lineup is very representative and highly professional, which enables the conference to discuss the current situation in detail and plan the scientific prediction method of mineral deposits and the future development path of the preparation of metallogenic map and prediction map. All these will undoubtedly help to further improve the practice of geological exploration and general survey, and promote the overall development of metallogeny. All the major reports heard at the meeting were published before the meeting, which undoubtedly promoted the efficient and smooth progress of the work of the meeting. Among the main speakers, the statements made at the meeting by p. m. tartarinov, U. g. starchinin, N. v. Kuklin, M. M. alioshen, P. v. Lazarev, B. M. Gimel Farb, A. A. Ivanov and B. a. tyolin were consistent with the pre issued report. Therefore, the Editorial Board considered that there was no need to publish their report again in this paper collection. Only the above-mentioned comrades' answers to the questions are included here. All reports and speeches in the collection of papers are printed according to the shorthand manuscript amended and signed by the author himself. In editing the materials, only a few non principled modifications were made to the author's original text occasionally, mainly adjusting the spoken form of the shorthand manuscript to the narrative form of the scientific report. All reports and speeches are arranged in the paper collection in the same order as they were read out at the meeting. Materials not read out during the meeting but submitted to the Organizing Committee in time and fully prepared for publication (short report and speech outline) are attached separately at the end of the anthology. In most cases, the reports and speeches at the meeting were accompanied by many graphic materials, but unfortunately they could not be published together.
